Shot Down?
04/08/2012 12:41Poor James Magnussen. Undoubtedly one of if not Australia's best swimmers, he bore the hopes of Australia on his shoulders competing in the 2012 London Olympics. That all came crashing down when the 4x100 men's relay came fourth, shocking all watching back home into stunned disbelief. Poor guys. But we all rallied around Magnussen, hoping that his 100m race would be the highlight of Australia's Olympic season and even net a world record. But he was beaten by the slimmest of margins, and now we all feel it. And its not just him. This Games has been one of the worst for Australia in decades, with only 14 medals across all the sports. Undoubtedly swimming tops the other sports, but it wasn't so long ago that we were a powerhouse. What's happening?
